Congressional Papers, 1964-1997.

Papers consist of correspondence, enclosures, and reports concerning Congressman Foley's legislative efforts. Significant quantities of press and public statement materials, including a news clipping file and many audio and video recordings of the Congressman, are represented in the collection. Papers concerning election campaigns and materials outlining various leadership posts held by Congressman Foley are likewise found among the papers. The Congressional papers are divided into nine record series, Legislative Files, General Correspondence and Subject Files, Office and Personal Files, House and Party Leadership, Government Departments and Agencies, Election Campaigns, District Office, Press Files, and Media Materials.

Thomas Stephen Foley (March 6, 1929 – October 18, 2013) was an American lawyer and politician who served as the 49th Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1989 to 1995. A member of the Democratic Party, Foley represented Washington's fifth district for thirty years (1965–1995).
